Virgin Media
Football
To position Virgin Media as on the side of fans, they ran a campaign to keep match tickets affordable
I wrote this film to leverage that and promote their football offering.
The challenge:
Virgin Media were up against established giants in football coverage.
They needed credibility without being able to rely on the spending power of a brand like BT Sport or SKY.
Brilliantly, due to loophole none of us really understood, they could sponsor a Premiership team without it being a conflict of interest. Which meant I had a stadium at my disposal to film in.
To position themselves on the side of the fans, Virgin Media also ran an initiative to keep match tickets affordable.
I wrote this film to leverage that and promote their football offering.
They sponsored the BAFTAs at the same time but I’d never get sent an invite….So we scheduled the post production sign off’s on this for the morning after the show…Turn’s out, bacon sandwiches, cups of tea and a dark room to lie down in = very quick yes’s with minimal changes.
